This month we have an interview with a true data center superhero, Maximillion Power. When he was just a baby, the Datacentarians sent him to Earth to uphold maximum efficiency in data centers worldwide.
Max lives in Data Center City, where he eliminates hotspots and keeps the notorious villains Wasted Power Man and Overcooling Crook in check.
Q: What motivates you?
A: I just want to help. The feeling I get when I help people fix issues in their data centers keeps me going. Now that the DCIM Support Community lets the people I help do the same for others in the same situation, it makes it full circle.
Q: How would you describe yourself?
A: I keep cool when the situation heats up, and still run at full speed. I don’t like wasting capacity, and I don’t like unintended breaks or hurdles.
I have to be honest. It took a lot of help to get where I am today, and now I’m giving back by helping others in need. With great power comes great responsibility. With Max Power comes great efficiency.
Q: What is your experience?
A: I started out hanging around the local data center acting cool. That’s where I met my mentor, Derek Christopher Ian McGregor, DCIM for short. He taught me the basics of data center management, and how to Max-imize its value. All of a sudden, new guys started to hang around and look to me for answers. I realized I had found a way to fulfill my mission to uphold efficiency in data centers worldwide.
I knew one man couldn’t do it alone. I had to create a space for people to share their knowledge, a community with peer to peer support for data center professionals, managers, and newcomers. It would be called DCIM Support after my mentor.
Q: What do you do in your sparetime?
A: I take cooking classes and enjoy long walks. I am totally kidding. I’m a superhero! I will only have spare time if every data center in the world runs smoothly. That will not happen until people start sharing their data center knowledge with each other.
